Mumbai welcomes the world’s dentists
From 21 to 24 October 2027, the FDI World Dental Congress comes to the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, hosted by the FDI World Dental Federation and co-hosted by the Indian Dental Association. Dr. Vishwas Puranik is Chairman of its Reception Committee.

The Reception Committee is the congress’s welcome: how delegates from every continent are received in Mumbai, from arrival to the opening ceremony. Dr. Puranik brings to it more than four decades in the Indian Dental Association, his years as National President, and his experience of nine FDI congresses around the world.
He serves alongside Dr. Deepak Muchhala, Chairman of the Organising Committee.

The invitation to 135 countries
At the FDI World Dental Congress in Prague, with 135 countries and 189 dental associations taking part, Dr. Puranik represented India and invited the world to Mumbai for 2027, as Chairman of the Reception Committee.
New Delhi, September 2014
From speaker to host
When the FDI Annual World Dental Congress last came to India, in New Delhi in 2014, Dr. Puranik was among its speakers on medico-legal issues in dentistry, and saw delegates from around the world welcomed the Indian way. Thirteen years later, in his home state, he leads that welcome.
